There was a girl...

There was a girl, who was pretty and sweet.
She was perfectly normal, and she loved to eat.
She had both her parents that gave her much love.
This girl was five, and her name was Dove.

As she got older, she remained sweet.
Even when other kids called her a freak.
They said she was ugly and frizzy and fat.
As she ran behind a tree, she cried as she sat.
Her parents still loved her with all their heart.
This ten year old girl, who was very smart.

She grew even more, but was no longer sweet.
She was as thin as a stick, because she refused to eat.
She was mean and cruel but still pretty.
She's no longer nice or smart what a pity.
Her parents still loved her, this much was true.
But she was a hand full, and they were through.
She ran away with a boy and never looked back.
She was only fifteen and was on the wrong track.

She was now older, and she fell in love.
She met him while dancing, one night at a club.
He gave her some drugs like coke and meth.
She took them and thanked him the guys name was Seth.
He used her and beat her in the summer heat.
He forced her to sell herself out on the street.
She remembered her parents and started to cry.
She was only twenty, and just wanted to die!

There was a girl, who was tired and beat.
She was very hungry, but had nothing to eat.
She was seven months pregnant and could still see her feet.
Unaware of the fathers name, was it Seth, Jim or Pete?
One night she was crossing a bridge and stopped half way.
She looks down at the water, which seemed miles away.
Standing on the ledge she started to shake.
She was living a nightmare from which she could not awake.
She missed her parents and all of their love.
So she took a step forward, and flew like a dove!
