A Women in Black

A women in black, she lived in a farm.
Alone and so old, she was missing an arm.
Beauty she lacked, the kind you can see.
But she had a heart, so lovely and free.
Children would fear her, this women in black.
Clouded by darkness, and the knowledge they lacked.
Day after day, she spent all alone.
Dreaming of friends, she could call her own.
Every morning she'd wake, and sing out a tune.
Ears that could hear her, wouldn't judge her so soon.
For she had a voice, unlike any other.
Forever longing, to be heard by another.
Got to know her, a few years back.
Greatness she was, this women in black.

The Cove

I came across this amazing documentary today. It's called "The Cove". Its about a man named Richard O’Barry who is famous for training the dolphins that played the role of Flipper in the TV series "Flipper" (1964-1967), and his quest in breaking the multimillion dollar industry he helped create! This movie exposes a dark secret that has been kept secret for way too long. Dolphin's are being caught and shipped all over the world to entertain people of all ages.. The ones that are not are slaughtered, packed and labeled as expensive whale meat. Most people are unaware that they are eating dolphins! I recommend this movie to everyone. If you are a Netflix subscriber like myself, you have until February 1, 2012 to watch it instantly. Or you can just get it on DVD.

Watch the trailer below:

Have you seen this documentary? What do you think about the slaughter of dolphin's?

Underworld

Today I was planing on going to see the new Underworld movie. But like most of my plans, I had to cancel. I was going to go see it in Manhattan. It would have been my first time going to Manhattan this year. The last time I went I saw Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, that was back in July. So I will be unable to go today I will have to wait until next Saturday.

There was a girl...

There was a girl, who was pretty and sweet.
She was perfectly normal, and she loved to eat.
She had both her parents that gave her much love.
This girl was five, and her name was Dove.

As she got older, she remained sweet.
Even when other kids called her a freak.
They said she was ugly and frizzy and fat.
As she ran behind a tree, she cried as she sat.
Her parents still loved her with all their heart.
This ten year old girl, who was very smart.

She grew even more, but was no longer sweet.
She was as thin as a stick, because she refused to eat.
She was mean and cruel but still pretty.
She's no longer nice or smart what a pity.
Her parents still loved her, this much was true.
But she was a hand full, and they were through.
She ran away with a boy and never looked back.
She was only fifteen and was on the wrong track.

She was now older, and she fell in love.
She met him while dancing, one night at a club.
He gave her some drugs like coke and meth.
She took them and thanked him the guys name was Seth.
He used her and beat her in the summer heat.
He forced her to sell herself out on the street.
She remembered her parents and started to cry.
She was only twenty, and just wanted to die!

There was a girl, who was tired and beat.
She was very hungry, but had nothing to eat.
She was seven months pregnant and could still see her feet.
Unaware of the fathers name, was it Seth, Jim or Pete?
One night she was crossing a bridge and stopped half way.
She looks down at the water, which seemed miles away.
Standing on the ledge she started to shake.
She was living a nightmare from which she could not awake.
She missed her parents and all of their love.
So she took a step forward, and flew like a dove!

The Hunger Games

I am super excited to see The Hunger Games! The Hunger Games is based on the first book of three written by Suzanne Collins. It takes place in a futuristic America that has been divided into districts. Every year a boy and a girl between the ages of 12-18 are randomly selected from each district to participate in a live televised event known as The Hunger Games. The hunger games is a competition with pretty much only one rule, kill or be killed! There can only be one winner, 24 kids go in only one comes out!

Since Harry Potter is over, I am hoping this will be the next big thing! The movie stars Jennifer Lawrence as the main hero of the story. She was Mystique in X-Men first class. She will be one of the 24 that will have to fight for her life! The movie will be out on March 23, 2012.

Watch The Trailer Below!

Do you hunger for the games? Will you go see this? Have you read the book? What part are you most looking forward to?

The Movies (PC Game)

On my last post I told you about my love for music videos. What I didn't tell you was that I use to make my own music videos with a game called "The Movies". The Movies is a computer game and the point of the game is to start your own movie studio and make it successful. You hire your actors, crew, script writers, scientists, etc. But the fun part is the sandbox mode. In sandbox mode you can make a custom movie and you don't have to worry about money or your actors getting tired.

So this is how I made my music videos. I posted them on YouTube as I made them but since I was using copy righted music some were removed. Some are still up but are blocked in certain countries. If you wanna see one of my music videos click here. I chose this video because I think it has a good message.

But I didn't stop there. I actually tried to make a short film. Keep in mind I did these videos 5+ years back. My movies title is Dracula and it's 3 parts. I checked my YouTube videos the other day (first time in over 2 years) and to my surprise, Dracula Part 1 had over 100,000 hits! I was in shock! Last time I checked the view count was in the hundreds. Dracula Part 2 and Dracula Part 3 have a combined total of 50,000 views, and they are my 3rd and 4th most popular videos!

Now I'm not saying these videos are good, I was a teenager when I made them but I do remember working hard on them. Once YouTube started taking them down I kinda just gave up and stopped making them. If you want to see some of my videos you can still find some on YouTube. I already gave you a link to one above. Below you will find a link to Dracula Part 1, 2 and 3! (Actually just click on the number)

Let me know what you think! .....David

Music Video Parodies

Growing up I was kind of slow when it came to music. I really didn't listen to music much. But in 2005 I discovered MTV! MTV Played music videos early in the morning and late at night. I fell in love with Music videos. There were songs that I heard on the radio that I really didn't like, but once I saw the music video for the songs I grew to like them! I feel like a music video can make a big difference to a song.

Why am I telling you this you ask? I'm telling you this because as much as I like music videos, I really like a good music video parody. Last year I found a YouTube channel that makes awesome Music Video parodies! The channel is called barelypolitical and they make pretty good music video parodies. Their parodies are more than just funny, they are smart, very well made, and pretty well acted.

I will leave a link to one of their videos that I really like. Its a parody of Eminem's "Love The Way You Lie" feat. Rihanna one of the many great parodies they make. Link is at the bottom of this post! (Hopefully)

*See if you can catch the Harry Potter reference!*

Do you like music videos? What's your favorite music video? or do you hate music videos? If so why?

Finding Nemo 3D

I am a big Pixar fan! I have seen all of their movies with the exception of Car and Cars 2. The thing is I saw them on TV when they came out on the Disney channel. I haven't seen a Pixar movie in theaters.

So I am excited that they are rereleasing this in 3D! But many people aren't. Many people don't like 3D or just don't wanna pay money to see a movie they have already seen. I saw Finding Nemo on TV so I never really paid to see it. But this happens to be one of my favorite movies and I wanna see it on the big screen.

Are you excited to see it again? Or do you want them to stop re-releasing movies in 3D all together?

There was a boy...

There was a boy, who wanted to live.
He went to school and did his work.
He had two loving parents.

There was another boy, who didn't care if he lived.
He was forced to go to school and do his work.
He had only one parent.

There was another boy, who wanted to die.
He didn't go to school or do his work.
He had no parents.

When the boys grew up,
The first boy got cancer,
The second boy became a drug addict,
And the third boy was a successful businessman.
All three boys had a son of their own.

So the boy who wanted to live, died from cancer.
The boy who didn't care if he lived, overdosed with his wife.
And the boy who wanted to die, learned to love life.

The first boy's son, had only one parent and was forced to go to school and do his work.
He didn't care if he lived.
The second boy's son, had no parents and he didn't go to school or do his work.
He wanted to die.
The third boy's son, had both his parents and he went to school and did his work.
He wanted to live.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower

I was surfing the web and came across this pic. I am really excited! I really want to see this movie! I would like to correct an earlier post where I said that the first Harry Potter book was the fastest book Ive read. Actually it was The Perks of Being a Wallflower.

Once I started reading it I couldn't stop! It was really good! If you have not read this book I really recommend it! It's nice and short so for all those people out there like me who get lazy when you see a big book, this one is short. But once you finish it you will pretty much wish it were longer.

The movie will be out sometime this year and is written and directed by the same person who wrote the book! I can't really put into words how excited I am for this movie! Emma Watson will be one of the three main characters and will probably have an American accent.

I don't know the release date yet but once I find out I'll let you know! .....David

Writing a Book

I wanna write a book. But I don't know what to write it about. It's very hard just coming up with a main characters name. I honestly think if I try hard enough I can write a book, but it probably won't be any good.

I really like to watch TV and I get really excited when I see a great show. I always ask myself where people get their ideas from. I heard that pretty much every idea has already been done before and most things are just recycled. (Like Lady Gaga's Born This Way.)

I will try to write something good this year! I just need to get started ....,David

Feeling Better

If anyone is reading this, I am still alive! I hate being sick so much! Every time I get sick, I really get sick! I also remembered all the times I wasn't sick and just stayed home and watched TV. I always get sick when I have to go out or just do something important.

Two years ago when I was in college, I had to take an English test required by the college to graduate. On the day of the test I was sick! I had a fever and a terrible headache. I still showed up. It was a four hour test in a packed room and I just wanted to get out of there! But unfortunately for me the test required an essay so I had to stay there and write.

I stayed there in what seemed to be the quietest room in the world. But at the same time it was packed with students. All you can hear was the sound of pens writing on paper and me of course coughing. I tried to cough as quietly as I could but in a quiet room it's still really hard.

I know everyone gets sick, and sometimes we just can't avoid situations like mine. But I would rather get sick on my "free-time" then during "whatever the opposite of free-time" is.

If your sick get well soon .....David

Sick

I am not feeling well today. I really hate being sick. But there really isn't much I can do just wait for it to pass.

This is my 7th day posting! I'm a little excited, I've been blogging for a whole week! But can I really call myself a blogger now? Probably not.

If anyone is reading this let me know. I hope someone is.

I will keep it short today, oh by the way I saw a movie called The Talented Mr. Ripley yesterday and I really liked it. Has anyone else seen it? What did you think?

Books

Growing up I hated books. I'm not kidding! I never liked reading, in school we always had to read something so I would. But honestly I don't really remember most of the books I read. But I can't stress enough how much I hated books! I especially hated when the teachers would make me read out loud. I always hated being called on, especially when I didn't know the answer. But teachers tend to call on you when you least expect it.

The reason I hated reading was simple, TV was better. I also had a hard time keeping track of characters in the story. So stories with a large cast of people I really hated because I could never keep track of them all. When a book would also describe a location or a character, I had the hardest time imagining what the author was describing. So basically all the characters from a book, I imagined as stick figures.

But a few years back, in the summer of 2009 I decided to read a book for fun. The book I chose was Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone! I decided to read it right after seeing the sixth movie, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. I have been a huge fan of the movies but I never bothered to read the books. The size of the books was enough to just make you want to give up reading. (not that I read anything anyway.) So I decided to read the first book, three days later I was done! I had never finished a book that fast in my life! But I couldn't understand why I enjoyed the book so much. Then it hit me, I already new the story, I knew what it was about, and how it would end. But more importantly, I didn't have to imagine any of the characters based on the books description, because I had already seen them in the movie. I used the actors appearance throughout the book. I knew what Harry looked like so it was easier to imagine him flying around on his broom or just sitting in a class room.

It's a strange thing but this is how I read all 7 books. I just pictured the actors from the movies, and the sets from the films to enjoy the books! It took me a whole year to read all 7 books because at the time I was in college and for those of you who have never been to college hears a heads up, you have to do a lot of reading!!! Not just reading but also re-reading and taking notes, and lots of studying. So now I enjoy reading a little more but not more than TV!

Does anyone else do this? Or is it just me.
Until next time. .....David

Winter Pain

For a while now I have suffered from this terrible pain in my left hand. It's hard to describe the pain, but it kinda feels like my bones themselves are hurting. I don't remember ever banging or hurting my hand. The pain just comes and goes. But lately it's been getting worse and its been happening more frequent. Yesterday I went out and the pain was unbearable! I felt as if my bones were on fire! (Not that I know how that feels like, nor do I ever want to experience such discomfort) I have no idea what cold be wrong. I'm right handed so it's not like I over use my left hand.

When the pain got really bad a little over a year ago I went to the hospital thinking that I was having a heart attack. I waited hours, only to be told that nothing was wrong with me. Even my blood pressure was normal, and my blood pressure is never normal. When a doctor can't figure out what's wrong with you that's kinda scary.

I will try to get another doctor to check out my hand. I can't stand the pain anymore! .....David

Car Ride

What is it about a car ride that's just so relaxing. Yesterday I went on what was my longest car ride this year. I love nice long car rides, I don't own a car and I can't drive. Here in New York it gets dark around 5pm so it was really nice riding around at night. I got to see manhattan from a distance and it looks amazing! All of the lights are beautiful, and for a moment, just a moment, I realized why people dream about coming here. I never wanted to reach my destination, I just wanted to enjoy the ride. I wanted to stare at the lights for as long as possible. It really was something to see.

As you can probably tell I really don't get out much, people around here just want to get to where they're going fast. How many people have driven by that same road and actually looked across the water and marveled at how beautiful it was? I'm sure there are quite a few. But at the same time there are people who drive thru there everyday and no longer see how beautiful it is. All they see is a road in front of them and all they think about Is their destination.

I don't have a destination, I'm just along for the ride. I don't know the driver, I don't know what car I'm in, or where this road will take me. But I do know that I should enjoy something as simple as tall skyscrapers with lights shining out of their windows.

All About Me

Where to begin, well the truth is I don't wanna tell you my whole life story. Sad as it may be I really don't wanna get into it. I grew up in Brooklyn and I've only been to manhattan about 20 times. A few times on school trips to museums and recently to go see a movie. I like going to the AMC theater on 42nd street. The reason I say this is because many people wish to visit Manhattan. I live a train ride away and have only been there a few times. Every time I've been there the streets have been crowded. I get very uncomfortable around crowds. I like being alone, I know a lot of people hate being alone, I don't.

I'm in my early 20's and I don't really get out much. I have nowhere to go really. Sometimes I feel like I'm missing something, that urge to go out and "mingle" (do people still say that?) or "hang out" (or whatever people my age say these days). I guess I'm not a social person. But I read somewhere that people are social creatures and we need to socialize to keep us sane. In a way I guess this is why I started a blog. As I'm typing this I feel like I'm having a conversation with someone, even if that someone is just me.

I don't really have friends I can "chill with" (that's still used, right?) I'm not good at making friends, I'm not good at talking to people period. The only communication i have are with random people via a pen pal app. I actually made a friend from LA and we text every now an then. She wants to come to NY and be in the audience for a show called Saturday Night Live. I live here and have no desire to do that.

I know I'm missing out on stuff, but the way I see it you can't really miss something you never had. Can you?

Well until next time! .....David

............

Wow, I'm on my sixth post and I have no idea what to write. But I said to myself I would post something everyday.

*sigh*

I live in Brooklyn and honestly don't like to go out much. I like staying home, watching TV and eating. Yes I'm kinda boring, and lazy (I have no idea where I'm going with this) but I would like to change. One big change for me will be this blog. I will try to write everyday, and try to write something interesting for.....er......uh........myself I guess since I don't really know if anyone is reading this.

Well I guess this is it for now. What will you change this year?

Why I Blog.....

I feel useless. I feel like the only thing Im good at is watching TV, and let's face it its not really a skill one uses to make a living. I feel like the only thing I can be good at is writing. I wanna write a book someday, a really good one. I'm really not a social person, I feel awkward around people. So I find it hard getting a job that requires little to no human contact!

I know my writing skill isn't all that great and my spelling is awful!!! But spell check makes things easier. I will try to improve my writing by doing this blog. I will try to write something everyday. I really hope someone is reading this. .....David
